Counseling, training, supervision.

Counseling for trauma healing.

I provide services to individuals and families seeking to address the pain and challenges that have overcome their lives, either from a history of hurtful experiences and/or from currently participating in hurtful, destructive behavior. Often, my clients report experiencing an event or events that they would describe as traumatizing. I will work with you to make connections about how your experience of traumatic events and past relationships continue to inhibit the realization of your health and wellness.

I facilitate the use of harm reduction techniques. To “reduce harm” means to change behavior that is immediately causing the most suffering to yourself and others. I support people in gradual changes rather than focus on large changes all at once. Any change is positive and will increase your confidence in your own ability. For trauma survivors, small, incremental change is often more effective, helpful and sustainable.

Training.

I am a graduate school instructor at the University of Washington in Seattle and Tacoma. I am also a member of the Motivational Interviewing (MI) Network of Trainers and provide training in MI and decolonial mental health for private practice therapists, group practices and health care workers.

I curate custom, Indigenous mental health trainings that alchemize the intersection of ancestral and modern day healing practices.

Clinical Supervision.

I am a licensed clinical social work supervisor and I am currently taking new supervisees. I am looking for trainees who have an interest in learning decolonial mental health models,  engaging their clients in difficult topics like problematic substance use, self-harm, depression, family conflict, traumatic experiences in early childhood, the harmful impacts of colonial white supremacy, and family systems/intergenerational healing practices.
I also offer brief consultation for clinicians seeking direction on how to partner with individuals, family members and family systems impacted by substance use. Please contact me for fees.

Fees

Investing in an authentic connection to ourselves, others and how we show up is an investment toward a more abundant future.

I do not take insurance. Some of my clients opt to use their out of network benefits and get some of their fee reimbursed directly from their insurance company after services are rendered.

Please call your insurance company in advance to see if this is a possibility. The insurance industry, unfortunately, has been allowed to make this increasingly difficult by increasing deductible amounts.

Always verify with your insurance company what your deductible is before you assume that you will be eligible for reimbursement. I can assist with necessary documentation for this.
